FIT & FUN

This will be a low stress fun exercise experience. This class will be geared toward the person who would like to try an exercise class, but doesn’t want the stress of routines. This will be a fun experience for anyone who would like to lose those few extra pounds. Students should wear sweats, shorts and tee shirt and bring a towel and bottle of water. Register at the Parks & Recreation office.
TAE KWON DO

If you've ever wanted to try your hand at watercolor painting this is your chance. From different kinds of brushes to basic techniques this class will help students learn to enjoy this fun, fluid medium. Paper and some basic supplies are provided, but students will need to purchase a couple of brushes and a basic paint set ($30) to get started. From there, supplies are based on individual interests. From washes to detail, come and learn techniques to help you enjoy painting with watercolors

Explore the many facets of pencil drawing to create finished works. Techniques to improve pencil control will be explored including lines, tonal gradations, linear and cross hatching, pointillism, rings, and gestural outlining. Master the art of distinctive hand lettering. Projects will include Old English, Italic, Script, and Uncial. Express yourself making invitations, greeting cards, announcements, and award certificates, etc. Bring your own writing instruments. Register at the Parks & Recreation office.

How many times have you said "I can do that!"? This class is designed to help you do it while learning and practicing the basics of acrylic painting. Special emphasis will be on taking ideas and translating them into workable projects, choosing the best supplies, and completing projects that you can point to with pride and say "I did it myself!" This is a fun class designed to familiarize folks with painting. No experience necessary. Register at the Parks & Recreation office.
SEEING OUR WORLD Preschool Art Class

This class is designed for young preschoolers with a parent or caretaker. Each class will focus on a particular topic with a project to take home. Emphasis will be on fin while exploring color, texture, and our natural environment. For expamle, for a fall leaves class, we will take a walk, talk about fall colors, and do a painting incorporating the natural things we gather. All supplies will be provided. Dress for the mess. Registration fee covers one child and one adult. Register at the Parks & Recreation office.
AFTER SCHOOL ART

Matisse, Rodin, Picasso, Da Vinci, and many others will be our guides as we do an overview of different media with a "master or two" as our jumping off point. We will paint, cut, sculpt, draw and print. This hour and a half class is designed for elementary school children. Class size is limited to ten students. Register at the Parks & Recreation office.
JEWELRY SILVERSMITHING

Learn jewelry fabrication using a torch. Projects will include basic design, soldering, sawing, filing, drilling, stone setting, forms and polishing. Also an introduction to copper enameling. Tools provided. Supplies fees are paid to the instuctor. Register at the Parks & Recreation office.

Wheel thrown pottery is a great chance to play in the mud! A combined class of demonstrations and individualized instructon will teach the basics skills such as wedging, centering the clay, throwing a cylinder, trimming and glazing techniques to create a variety of vessels. If this is something you always wanted to do then this is your class. No experience required!
Advanced Wheel

Are you an experienced thrower but want to take it to the next level? Then this is the class for you! Through individualized and group instruction, you will learn techniques to improve your throwing, trimming and handling of clay to create beautiful objects. Through the use of the potter's wheel, hand altering, surface treatments, learn to express your own personal style!
Beginning Wheel for Teens

Have you ever wanted to try throwing clay on a potter's wheel? Now is your chance. You will learn how to wedge clay, how to center it on the wheel and how to create simple cylinders and bowls. Techniques such as trimming, decorating and glazing will also be included in this eight week course. Any experience level welcome.
Pottery Sampler for Parent & Child

Spend some quality time with your child while creating FUNctioal items! You will learn a variety of methods including coil-building, pinch pots, slab work and glazing to create flower pots, trays and wall pockets. Pieces will be finished with basic glazing techniques and fired to a lasting, durable and safe item for everyday use. No experience necessary!

An introductory class in hand building with clay slabs is designed for all adults! Learn to make tiles, trays, vases, mirrors, boxes, and more using just a slab roller and rolling pin! You will learn several exciting surface decorating techniques using simple tools and found objects.
