You can now access your library account online. Once you click the link below you can get to your patron account at any time by clicking once on the Patron Account Tab. You will be asked for your barcode number (located on back of library card) and password (last 4 digits of your home phone number).

Check-out Policies

Books may be checked out for three (3) weeks, unless otherwise noted. Books may be renewed twice if no other requests have been placed on the book. Magazines and newspapers are available for on-site use only.

Fines and Fees

The overdue fine for books is 10 cents per day per book. Overdue fines for audio books is 25 cents per day per audio. Sundays and holidays are excluded. Patrons will be contacted periodically one of three ways: phone, e-mail (if patron has provided), or mail. For more convenient drop-off, there are three book drops outside the library.

Internet Access Rules and Regulations

Access to the Internet is compatible with the Library's mission to serve as a reliable source of information and reference to the community. The Internet allows users to connect to vast networks of information, resources and ideas outside the library. The Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library has no control over these resources and assumes no responsibility for the quality, accuracy, currency, or suitability of any Internet resource.

Internet use will be managed in a manner consistent with the Library's Disruptive Behavior Policy.

The following actions will not be allowed:

  • sending of displaying obscene or disruptive messages, files, or images;
  • using obscene language;
  • changing or adding files to the Internet station(s);
  • harassing, insulting, or attacking others;
  • violating copyright laws or software license restrictions

Violations of these rules may result in a loss of access as well as appropriate legal action.
