Community Assessment
Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library is the public library of Clayton, NC. It serves a community of about 12,000 residents. The library began as one building but is continuing to grow beyond its current three buildings. The library consists of four different departments: The Main/Adult Room, Children's Room, Reference Room/History Room and Meeting Room. The patrons of the library range from birth to seniors who come from diverse cultural backgrounds. The library is not limited to printed and recorded materials but also has Internet and computer services available. The Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library is affiliated with the Johnston County Public Library System. This affiliation allows patrons to have access to all Johnston County Library materials through inter-library loan currier service without having to leave Clayton.
