Stations & Equipment
Currently the Department responds out of two stations.
Station 1 - 325 West Horne Street, Clayton NC 27520
Opened in 2005 replacing the much older original Station 1. It features a 6 vehicle bay, day room, kitchen, training room, exercise room, multiple offices, and 4 sleep quarters. It is located in downtown and is the headquarters of the department.

Station 2 - 800 NC 42 Highway East, Clayton NC 27520
Opened in 2000, Station 2 had a 2 vehicle bay, a day room and an office. In 2007, it was expanded to include sleeping quarters, a kitchen, and an extended bay to house an additional apparatus. The property of Station 2 covers 5 acres and is used in conjuction with the Town of Clayton Parks and Recreation Department. The area behind the station also serves as a temporary training area for specific fire/rescue training practicals.

APPARATUS/EQUIPMENT
The Department currently responds to incidents with a cache of apparatus that carries a variety of equipment required per the North Carolina Response Rating System (Clayton Fire is a 5/9 rated department) and operational purposes. The apparatus includes 4 Pumper/Tankers (1 which serves as a reserve apparatus), 1 Rescue Pumper, 1 Heavy Rescue, 2 Brush Trucks, 1 Fire Ground Support/Accountability-Rehab vehicle, 1 Trench/Collapse Response Trailer, and ATV's for wildland and special operations use. The apparatus is strategically placed at each station and incident responses are conducted in a specific order for operations and the safety of personnel.
