After School and Schools Out Days

The after school program is available for grades K-5 on days that Johnston County Schools are in session. Schools Out Days and Spring and Winter break Camps are available for full days during Johnston County Public School teacher workdays and breaks. For our summer day camp please see the Summer Playground Program below. To register for No School Today visit Rec1. Afterschool registration is taken in person at the Clayton Community Center. Registration is now open for the 2015-2016 school year. Transportation is provided from West Clayton Elementary and Cooper Elementary.

Art ClassArt Classes

From After School Art to Painting for Adults, the Clayton Parks and Recreation Department offers art classes for everyone, from Preschoolers to Senior Citizens. Check out all of our offerings on Rec1 and join us for a class!

 

 

 

Fitness Classes

The Clayton Community Center offers daytime and evening fitness classes for everyone ages 18 and over. Classes include Zumba, Yoga, and more! For a complete list of current fitness classes visit Rec1.

Pottery

Nature

Come turn over logs, search through ponds and get elbow deep in the dirt! The Clayton Community Center is home to a community teaching garden and we are expanding children’s nature classes into our parks. Check out Rec1 for more information.

Pottery Classes

The Clayton Community Center is home to a full pottery studio featuring classes in both wheel thrown and hand building methods. Classes are offered for ages 5 to 99 and studio hours are open to adults age 16 & up. To view and register for Pottery classes please visit Rec1.

Summer Camp

Summer Playground Program
When school is out come to the Clayton Community Center for a summer full of fun and adventure! Meet new friends, learn new games, explore the park or even try your hand at gardening! Campers will need to bring lunch and two snacks per day. Call (919) 553-1550 for more information. Registration is done in person at the Clayton Community Center

2016 Registration starts March 7 for Clayton Residents and Annual Family Members and March 21 for Non-Residents

Ages 6-12 (Must turn 6 before August 19)
$25 Registration Residents: $50 per week, Non-Residents: $100 per week
