Longtime Policeman Promoted to Sergeant

Veteran Policeman Jason Barnes has been promoted to Sergeant in the Clayton Police Department's Patrol Division.

Barnes, who joined the force in 2003 from the Johnston County Sheriff's Department, had been serving in the Detective Division. He has a degree in Criminal Justice from Johnston Community College and a degree in Information Systems Technology from Wilson Technical Community College.

The longtime officer was awarded an "Intermediate Certificate" from the NC Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission in May 2008.
